Some like it hot, others have no choice. For anyone who is going to brave the extreme heat on your next camping adventure, these valuable recommendations will permit your trip to be cooler than the other side of an travel pillow.

Remain Hydrated

Our bodies are 60% water. Water could be the essence of life and crucial to all of nature’s creation. Moral of the story: We need to have water as well as the hotter it’s the far more of it we need to have.

Your body requirements to help keep cool during heat exposure and just because you are not sweating, doesn’t mean you’re not at risk of dehydration. In arid climates, perspiration may be at a minimum, but your body is burning through a lot of water attempting to keep your engine from overheating.

As a general rule, signs of thirst are strong indicators which you are already dehydrated. Be sure you bring a lot of water with you and stay away from diuretics like caffeine, energy drinks, carbonated soft drinks, and alcohol. Boozing it up may leave you with far more than just a hangover, whenever you are in the hands of the sun’s wrath for extended periods of time.

An optimal option for re-hydration is coconut water. Coconut water contains far more potassium than a banana, and has fifteen times far more electrolytes than your common sports beverage. Electrolytes are crucial for hydration to the body, and permits you to retain the water you consume. For those who do not have coconut water, it’s most effective to consume water during snacking periods, when electrolytes inside your meals will probably be present.

Keep your water inside your pack or use a hydration pack. Although it may be cumbersome to retrieve, leaving your water exposed on the outside of the pack leaves you with hot water, which isn’t pleasant to consume. Several coconut water brands are offered in tetra packs, ideal for packing in tight spaces.

Dress the Portion

Wear light, airy camping clothes. Cover as considerably skin as feasible. Obtain clothing options with high UPF ratings to block out the sun. Wearing a hat is crucial in protecting the UV rays of the sun while keeping the core temperature lowered. You will find no style points in terms of staying cool when it’s hot. Save your Facebook profile pic for a far more fashionable affair.

If you have expendable water or perhaps a water source at your disposal, staying wet assists fight the heat. A wet bandanna around the neck not just covers it from the sun, but it also keeps you cool.

Be Shady

Shade is crucial in terms of camping in hotter climates. If feasible, put your tent below trees or landmarks that supply you with protection from the sun. For anyone who is on the move with no shade, get started early, rest within the afternoon, and continue at night. Resting and restricting movement throughout the hottest parts of the day (2-5pm) is ideal. For anyone who is camping near a lake, go for a swim during this time. No shame in hiding within the shadows when shade can account for a 20-degree temperature swing.

Camping will need to be adventurous, not harmful. Follow these uncomplicated but important recommendations to maximize your enjoyable within the sun.

Best Time to go Camping

Posted: March 5th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Outdoor Activity | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

Camping is a great way to spend your leisure time, but the only time you can really rely on some enjoyable weather is in the Summer, don’t get me wrong, going camping in the wet and cold can be enjoyable if your well prepared, but you can’t go out on walks and enjoy some exploration with the british weather pounding down on you. On a personal note, I went camping at the end of March and ended up waking up at 6 in the morning with snow falling around me. It was absolutely freezing but it was a pretty sight to wake up to.

So before you pack your backpacks and pack all of your items, remember to first ask permission of a land owner. If you are really eager to go camping, then I would suggest going in May as the earliest time you can enjoy it as the weather starts to turn a bit more mild.

Other than the early campers, the best choice is to wait until the summer, then you can sandals and shorts and enjoy some basking in the Sun and then if the night gets a bit chilly, then you can have yourself a fire and relax in the still air.

Camping in a hammock is one of the most relaxing and underrated, that’s if you can get over the fact you are really open to the elements, but even so, in the summer, if you are camping with a friend, there really is not much better. So get a friend with you to buy a hammock and go for a night in some local woods once the sun starts to break through and we are hitting summer.
