We want to start our trip in Michigan, go down to Texas, west to Arizona and back to Michigan in 2 weeks. I have never used and RV before and I don’t know if it’s better to rent one or to sleep in hotels driving with a car. I have a 2 years old child and I am looking for the most stress free option.

I am a motorcyclist looking for a 3 persons tent to bring in my trip. This tent has to be very small when it is packed. A clerk at L.L. Bean Suggest me Mutha Hubba 3 persons. Is it a good choice! I have to choose too, two sleeping bags that I can zip toguether (no mommy). I never sleep outside below freezing point and those sleeping have to be very small when packed. Thanks to all of you! By the way size matters not the weight!

What are some ideas for going to california and not renting a hotel?
Me and two friends are going on vacation to california this summer, but we don’t want to rent a hotel because we are cheap.
I was thinking something like buying a tent and finding some campgrounds, but i dont know.
We’re taking a ford focus so we don’t have enough room to sleep in the car really.
What are some ideas for places to sleep and shower in california without renting a hotel?

Me, my SO, LO and LDs(little dogs;)) are going camping. If anyone has any tips about how to make camping with a child stressless and more fun, I would greatly appreciate it. This is our first camping trip with baby and though we are seasoned campers ourselves we are not sure what we may expect with a baby.
I’m a little concerned about the fact she will have to sleep with us at night (cold temps) and she is not used to doing so since she was 4 months (she likes her space).
All suggestions or comments are appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I am planning to travel Europe mainly by bicycle alone. Probably Greece-italy-Slovenia-Austria-Germany-
Will it actually save money to bring my tent with? Or should I rather leave the hassle of the tent and sleep in hostels. What will be the cheapest?
I have a feeling it may be cheaper to go by hostels, because i have to pay for my tent site, and not for one person as I would have at a hostel. Or maybe I am wrong… could camping be cheaper?

I am going to be hopping on my motorcycle and heading down through Frisco to LA along the coast. Just gonna be me, my motorcycle, and some camping gear. Looking for free to fairly cheap place to just pitch a small tent or even a couple trees to sling a hammock. Gonna be traveling light so don’t really need campground facilities just ground or trees to sleep.
Checked the KOA and they want a night just to tent camp.

Yesterday we took our 2 year old camping for the first time.
The day was great. He loved it. Ran about, jumped in mud and helped us gather wood for a fire. Perfect!
When it came to bed time however it was a nightmare. We normally put him to sleep about 7.30pm and we tried his normal routine with a bit of play after tea time, a wash, some milk then bed, and it took until gone 10 to get him settled, and everything we tried just seemed to result in a tantrum. Eventually we gave in trying and he just fell asleep in his camp chair next to the fire and we lifted him into his bed.
Finally! Or so we thought. When me and my partner went to bed about 1am, the sound of us getting into the tent must have woke him up and that caused an almighty scene until we let him sleep with us. Then he woke up at 6 and as he was knackered this too caused a massive tantrum to the extent that we packed up and left!
Any tips for next time ??

Hi! Originally my fiancee and I were going to get a hotel room on a beach that’s about an hour and a half away from where we’ll be living for our honeymoon (next march) but my hubby-to-be can’t swim and is terrified of the ocean and I don’t reallly LOVE it either. So after much thought and consideration I decided I’d like to go camping. I brought the idea up to my fiancee and he LOVED the idea. We both agree that being in the wilderness, just one tent, one sleeping bag, the stars and I will be so nice and romantic. Here’s the issue: neither of us has been camping. When I was a kid I used to sleep in a tent in my dad’s backyard but that’s the extent of my wilderness expereince… and his is when he was kicked out for two days as a teenager and slept in the park… so basically we have NONE. What tips can anyone give us? What type of tent and sleeping bag should we get? What should we bring along? We’ll be living in South Texas (McAllen) so where should we GO camping… like a specific camping ground or just where ever the trails take us? ANY help (especially tips that’ll save us money!!) are VERY much appreciated.
I will be picking a best answer so if you put time into your answer don’t worry, I’ll take note of it

I am going on a camping trip in a few weeks. I will be camping in a tent and I need something to take with me that will be nice to sleep on. My boyfriend I have tried sleeping on an air mattress, but that doesn’t work very well for us. I have looked at some of the pads in the camping gear, but they don’t look very comfortable and I don’t want to waste money. Any ideas? It has to be easy and portable!

I am very inexperienced with RVs, so I need lots of help. I am thinking of buying a RV because me and my family love road trips. I think it would be a good way to come together and connect the family. I need something that will sleep 5-8 people comfortably. Here are some questions:
1) Have you had good experience with a RV? Was it worth owning one?
2) Should I get a trailer(I don’t have a truck, but I could buy one) or mobile RV?
2A) If you said trailer, what kind?
2B) If you said mobile RV, what kind?
3) What is a good budget when looking for a RV?
4) What RVs(year, make, model) would you suggest?
5) What is a good website I can go to for RV sales?
Money is not a issue in my family but I don’t know if it is worth spending so much money on a RV. I was thinking ,000-75-000 budget maybe? Is that a good budget? I’ve been mostly looking at A-class and C-class mobile RVs. Or should I get a truck and a trailer? I don’t know, I think it would be hard to haul a trailer and it wouldn’t be as comfortable as traveling in a RV(while the car is in motion). I’ve been looking at the C-class, but now I’m thinking maybe it has a trashy design? I’m not sure. Are there any stereotypes out there with C-class? A-class is huge, like a bus. Which would be the best for me? I need something that’s practical, can sleep 5-8 comfortably, and easy to drive for a vehicle this size.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank You

Me and a mate are thinking of either buying a cheap small car and travelling across europe whilst camping or buying a van and travelling in that and setting it up so we can sleep in it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated . Also good places to visit!
