Some people want to feel like a celebrity, even if it is for a couple of days, so why not give one of these holidays a go! Celebrities enjoy holidays just like us “Normy’s” do, and they even enjoy a holiday that we even embark on, although they do enjoy a lot of luxury. So do you want to know where the celebrities go, then you could book a holiday and chances are, you may bump into your role model!
So where are these places, where can we find a celebrity? Let’s start at the Caribbean, somewhere that you would expect to find these celebrities! St Lucia is probably the most beautiful of all the islands. If any celebrities would like to relax for a couple of weeks, then this is the place, in some very pricey hotels. Interestingly enough, one good example of a celebrity that visited recently is Amy Winehouse. The best thing about this is that she stayed in St Lucia for a while, and was happy for people to come up to her and chat. She interacted with the locals and tourists, which was a fun experience for all.
Now the Caribbean – Again, and this time we go east to Barbados. Barbados is a favourite holiday location of one of the princes of the British sovereignty, Prince Harry quite enjoys a vacation here. Barbados offers everything a party going celebrity would need for a week or so. This party island “Barbados” gives everybody the chance to go out on the St Lawrence mile strip, for as long as you want!
The next location is probably the most expensive and the highest in quality. This is a big honeymoon location for the famous types of people. People like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes headed here for two weeks after they got married, and Beyonce and Jay Z came here for their honeymoon. This is for spa treatment and those that like to just stroll across the seaside.
Summer may be over in mainland Spain but there are outposts where the season never ends. Such as the Canaries – the seven islands which are situated just off the coast of West Africa, many hundreds of miles south of the Iberian Peninsula. A location that creates a great climate all year round.
As a result the Canaries welcome visitors throughout the year and after Catalonia are the second most popular holiday destination in Spain. Arrivals have fallen by around 20% during 2009 thanks to the current economic crisis. But millions of tourists will still be booking holidays in the region this autumn, despite the downturn.
Part of the reason for this ongoing popularity is that the Canaries are the closest winter sun destination to key tourist markets such as the UK and Germany. Which are both just four hours flying time away. This winter, flight prices for UK visitors also look set to fall thanks to growing competition on the route between the big guns of the low cost flight world. Which will hopefully help to reduce the price of flights to Lanzarote.
What sort of weather can visitors expect to enjoy during the winter months? On Lanzarote the temperature averages at around 20 degrees Celsius. With hardly any rainfall at all. The days are also longer than back in the UK – with the sun not setting before 6pm at the earliest. Whilst the Trade Winds that normally buffet the island from March through to August have dampened down.
The island offers high standards of accommodation too. Covering all of the bases from high quality hotels through to simple studio apartments. A growing number of visitors now prefer to book their own accommodation online too – thanks to the growth in internet usage. And as result interest in – and bookings for – Lanzarote villas have increased enormously over the last decade.
Of course the increase in visitors looking for Lanzarote apartments and villas is good news for travellers to the island as villa owners have had to ensure that clients requirements are met, and those extras and traditional add ons are now included in the price.
The resort of choice during he winter months is Playa Blanca, which is located right at the southern foot of the island. And consequently enjoys the best weather. Playa Blanca has rapidly evolved over the last decade to become the second most popular destination on the island. With a wide range of villas in Playa Blanca available for rental with prices starting from around £400 per week. As well as a fine selection of good quality four star hotels lining the shoreline such as the Princesa Yaiza and the Timanfaya Palace.
The island is a exceptionally well visitied all year holiday destination with many outstanding resorts. Follow the links for more information about Playa Blanca villas in particular or other Lanzarote villas and apartments.
Deciding on a country to visit can be easy when preparing for a holiday. The problem is, once you have decided where it is that you want to go, where exactly in that country can you travel too? So to help out with this decision I will give you two destinations to have a look at! These two locations in Egypt are relatively close to each other, but we will start with the one further north.
Sharm El Sheikh, a great looking city and one of the most luxurious, close to that of Luxor. This is one of the most luxurious places to visit, and great for any that are avid divers. Sharm El Sheikh is the place for wreck diving and shark diving, there are hundreds upon hundreds of reef sharks that gather in the Red Sea here. Don’t like camels or horses, then no need to worry, you can borrow a Quad Bike for travelling cross country! Sharm El Sheikh is one of the biggest cities in Egypt, and it isn’t short on what it can offer, because of it’s position in Egypt, it is easy to access other places like Cairo. This is where the Sphinx is and you can travel to the Pyramids as well. St Catherine’s Monastery is a gracious and glorious place to venture to. Because of this buildings importance in the religious world, it is highly regarded and visited very often.
This next wonderful location is south of Sharm El Sheikh, but next to the red sea, this is Hurghada. This is where Free Diving is biggest, being able to see the coral and wildlife in the shallows. If you still want to enjoy the underwater world and see all of the coral and wildlife, but don’t want to get wet, then you can always hitch a ride on one of the Glass Bottom boats that are around. Something that is recommended here and is different to Sharm is the Safaris.
If you would like to explore the desert in a Dune Buggy, then just ask a tour operator where you can do this, and they will point you in the right direction. If you do travel out into the desert, you can go to a small village called Bedduin, where people live right in the heart of these savage and harsh conditions of the desert.
Lanzarote is a favourite holiday destination for many European holiday makers and is situated in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. And this group of islands were once considered by historians to actually be the long lost city of Atlantis. Today the Canaries are second only to Catalonia as the most visited region in Spain. Welcoming millions of holidaymakers every year .
Although all part of the same island group however differences between the islands are very noticeable, however as each island enjoys its own quite unique character and cultural development. A typical example of this is the governance of the islands with the eastern islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura governed from Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. Whilst the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma have their administrative capital on the island of Tenerife.
Lanzarote hasn’t only been a recent tourist destination though as the islands has been attracting British and foreign visitors since the 1900’s . But modern tourism only started to take off during the 1970´s. As General Franco began to loosen his stranglehold on Spain As the area was in desperate need of a boost to its economy after years of restriction.
Today the island is happy to welcome visitors that number into the millions as they arrive from all over Europe and other parts of the world, and bizarrely even tourist from the Spanish mainland. Many of whom seek to swap the oven like heat of the peninsula for the cooler and more temperate climes of the Canaries during August.
The growth of internet usage has changed the tourist market worldwide. And Lanzarote is no exception to this trend. As more and more people eschew traditional travel agencies to build and book their own breaks direct online. This has led to an upsurge in demand for apartments and villas in Lanzarote. With self catering accommodation in the main resorts making up a sizeable proportion of the total amount of tourist beds now available here.
The most luxurious rental villas in Puerto del Carmen can be found in areas such as Risco Prieto. Which enjoys a prominent position above the old town, overlooking the traditional harbour area which is in the process of redevelopment (Lanzarote style) into a beautiful marina which will have all the trapping of luxury for its visitors.
Whilst travellers looking for villas in Playa Blanca should would be best looking at the Montana Roja and Rubicon Marina areas. As this area has a particularly wide range of quality rental accommodation at reasonable prices.
Not all Lanzarote’s visitors are lured here by the beaches however and rural tourism is increasing in popularity as visitors seek to experience the culture and natural out of resort lifestyle the island is so famous for. Visitors that take time out to tour the island are amazed to find out how unspoiled it is . Prompting many to return time and time again to experience the true Lanzarote in countryside fincas and rural apartments.
In recent Years more folk are searching for new vacation destinations which offer something different or, the absolute minimum something other than the usual sunny beach holiday. During this, so called, credit crunch many of us are, sadly coming to the conclusion that they have far less money for investing in a holiday and are, frustratingly, having to shaving corners to stretch their money further. One way of doing it is to look for cheaper destinations. In the following article I introduce readers to Birmingham, a city in England. With the dollar and euro so strong against the English pound Birmingham hotels are at bargain prices.
Birmingham is a city in the English county called the West Midlands and the residents of the city are referred to as being “Brummies”. The Brummy dialect is a strong northern English sounding accent and it is something of a problem to follow what is being discussed a problem which is made worse if if you are new to such dialects. Luckily the people from Birmingham are kind, extremely helpful and polite and do their utmost to help you understand so if necessary don’t hesitate to approach folk about help and directions or guidance in finding Birmingham bed & breakfast.
Birmingham has a superb collection of tourist attractions which include a few interesting museums and art galleries, such as the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and the Thinktank in the Eastside. The city of Birmingham also features a stunning number of square miles of woodland, parkland and open spaces, the largest being Sutton Park having 2,400 acres making it the largest urban nature reserve in the United Kingdom and the whole of Europe.
Birmingham features a vibrant and varied night scene with many restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, bars, wine bars and nightclubs. You will find some of the most popular in one of the city’s squares, Victoria Square, Centenary Square, Chamberlain Square, the historic Old Square at Corporation Street, St Martin’s Square, Rotunda Square and the Gas Street Basin. Gas Street Basin is the central hub of Birmingham’s intricate canal network. Birmingham has about thirty two miles of canal with between eight canals which were dug during the 18th century and continued being used until the 1970′s. Today the area has been renovated and regenerated and is now a rather good tourist attraction.
Alternatively why not think about booking Birmingham city or airport apartments. If you If you are planning a Birmingham vacation you should be aware that Birmingham International Airport is approximately 8 miles east of the the city center just off the A45. You will find there is a lot of hotels and b & b’s close to the airport.
More and more folk are choosing to take vacations closer to home this coming year. For the majority of us the choice is to cut down on expense but is this the wisest choice or a terrible mistake? Often the majority of us overlook the large number of local attractions and yet they are commonly top class and more superior than those we see somewhere else. Folk resident in the British Isles have an astounding choice of places in which to take a vacation all of which have a huge collection of first class attractions to visit. In this article I introduce the English city of York and hotel accommodation in York.
The city of York is found in Yorkshire (a county in England) and was, in the distant past, the capital of a kingdom equal to most of northern England. With such an ancient city it will not come as a great surprise to discover a massive collection of incredibly medieval buildings, however you may not expect the astounding sight of the Gothic medieval York Minster.
The first incarnation of York Minster was a humble construction made of wood in which King Edwin of Northumbria was, in the 7th century, baptised. It wasn’t until 1080 that the first substantial construction made of stone appeared on the site. Constructed by Thomas of Bayeux, a Norman Archbishop it was added to by Archbishop Roger who built a a south transept and a north transept. After many more alterations and additions the cathedral was complete and consecrated in the year 1472. Inside features the largest medieval stained glass window in the world. York has many other places to visit including; the National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Viking Centre, Barley Hall, the Roman Bath Museum, Fairfax House, York Dungeon and York Castle Museum.
As well as all of the incredible historic attractions mentioned earlier, the city of York is an exciting city in which to go out partying or enjoy the theatre, opera or live music. It that doesn’t excite you then you could visit a pub instead there are certainly plenty to choose from, to name but a few; Slug and Lettuce, The Junction Leeman Road, Old Star Inn, The Bluebell Inn and The Royal Oak, and, lastly, the Black Swan. Out of all the mentioned pubs the Black Swan is more than likely the most widely appealing with an excellent atmosphere and sometimes having live music.
B&B Accommodation In York
Like many other UK cities you will find a huge variety of bed and breakfast in York ranging from cheap and cheerful guest houses to five star hotels. The Middlethorpe Hall hotel is just two miles from York city centre but gives superb bed and breakfast with private gardens, sauna, gym and steam room, and you can even get a massage. Other superb York hotels include; Bishops at 135 Holgate Road, Burn Hall Hotel, Parsonage Country House Hotel, Hotel du Vin and Bistro and the Marriott on Tadcaster Road and one of the best guest houses is Crossways on Wigginto Road, or if you are in need of something different why not take a look at Marmadukes Boutique Hotel.
Vacations in Britain seem to be incredibly popular at the moment, due to the the current economy and the low value of the pound. Great Britain has a large number of top tourist destinations including London (the English capital city) and other fascinating cities plus a fine selection of seaside resorts such as; Blackpool, Bognor Regis, Clacton-on-Sea and Eastbourne. One town commonly overlooked is Plymouth in the south of England.
When you first arrive Plymouth appears a little plain and primarily modern, but searching a little deeper and you will quickly find that Plymouth has a rich history and a deep association with the sea. As long ago as the 16th century there has been a port in the town. In 1588 Francis Drake embarked from the port at Plymouth to defend Britain against the Spanish Armada. Another historic moment occurred in sixteen twenty when port witnessed the embarkation of the Pilgrim Fathers.
It is possible to take inexpensive vacations in Plymouth by staying in bed and breakfast in Plymouth rather than booking a posh hotel. A quick look online will show that you can make a reservation from £29 a night and some places have reasonably priced dinners too, often equivalent to, or less expensive than local restaurants.
Things To See And Do In Plymouth
There are a great many places of interest in the town which are worth a visit. Popular tourist attractions include; the old quay at Sutton Harbour, Merchant’s House Museum, the Barbican district and the National Marine Aquarium. A cruise around the naval base is an excellent way to spend some time but if you find that you have more time why not take a trip to places near to Plymouth, such as; Saltram House, Mount Edgcumbe or Buckland Abbey.
Saltram House is a pretty Tudor Mansion which is located two miles from Plymouth, Mount Edgcumbe is another Tudor house with parklands, coastal paths and landscaped gardens, and Buckland Abbey, roughly 6 miles in distance from Plymouth, is a Cistercian abbey which was at one time by Francis Drake and was at a later date renovated as a family home.
If you are currently considering spending some time in the city of Plymouth it is crucial that you reserve your accommodation as early as possible as, unfortunately Plymouth hotels tend to be amazingly busy and are often fully booked for weeks or even months in advance. If you are a large group you may find that serviced apartments in Plymouth are a more affordable option to Plymouth bed and breakfast. If you are visiting the United Kingdom from overseas then you could consider making a reservation for a room in London hotels to take in the sights of the nations capital too.
If you have kids then are you going to be ready for the summer holidays. A lot of people have been unable to book their holidays this year due to the credit crisis, people have been either losing their jobs or scared of losing their jobs. So what has happened is they have been budgeting and not purchasing any sort of expenses.
Now that the summer holidays are here parents are panicking because they dont know what to do. Although there are many great ways to keep people occupied such us going out, I think the best option would be to look for a last minute deal.
You may of not had the money to book a holiday for July or August because it is literally the peak of the season and the prices would have been through the roof to go anywhere. So what you should be actively doing now that the kids are off school is looking for last minute deals on a daily basis.
You could get some good deals on a 14 night break.UK family holidays as a lot of the population would instead go looking for holidays abroad. I would instead look for great UK resort that you can get a booking for near to nothing.
You owe it to yourself and your kids, you have in all likelihood been working hard all year round and your kids have in all probability been studying really hard, so a well merited break will help you all out. In the end every one should look at taking a break because it helps you relax your body, your mind and your soul and will make you come back feeling refreshed and ready to go, until of course a year later when you go on holiday again.
There is a great sense in the world today that people need to start losing weight. There has been too much talk about our children getting fact and not enough acting. So instead of planting fear into these children about how they should lose weight, because they won’t fit in, surely we should be doing something to help them.
Everybody says that we do our bit for our children to help them eat healthily. Eating greens, vegetables and fruit can be very boring, so we need to find something else to keep them happy. The hard part is trying to set up something that they can have a good time doing, yet has positive effect on their health?
Well the one easiest way to do this, is to get them trying something that they enjoy. Something that involves exercise, but to also make sure it is something that could catch on. People wont generally have thought of taking a child on holiday to inspire exercise, but diving is a great opportunity for this. The main question is, do you have any holidays booked this year? If you don’t but your planning on it, maybe you should consider diving holidays. The cost of a normal holiday will be less expensive, but these diving holidays are getting very popular so the prices are coming down.
What you want to do is take them on one of these holidays and really get them involved in it. Then you have them in the trap, you can slowly lead them in the direction of swimming or something when you get back home.
The main point to this is trying something that may cost a little bit for one time. After going diving and enjoying themselves there is then the opportunity for them to go off and try swimming when you get back home. Another interesting one is to go out and go on a Safari; these are great for inspiring environmental thinking, leading to hiking trails or any other things outside back at home.
