I just bought a small 125cc dirt bike (registered with a green sticker) and was wondering if I could take it to a State or Federal campground. Not really interested in riding trails, just want to drive it around different parts of the campsite. I used to see/do this all the time when I was younger but nobody seems to do it anymore… did they outlaw it?
We are going on a camping trip in may – have you any ideas for evening meals?
We are going for 5 nights and stopping at a different campsite each night (driving – so it doesn’t need to be light) and staying in small tent
We have an electric cool box in the back of the van so we can keep stuff fresh.
We have a 1 ring gas stove

hi me and my boyfriend are going camping for the first time,
and as we dont have a clue whether we’re going to like it we’re only going for 2 nights…and are just taking a bbq (as we are students and cant afford all the gear if we’re not going to like camping at the end!)
has anyone got any got recipes for bbq cooking apart from the obvious sausages/burgers?
thanks
this campsite also allows you to make an open fire
I’m 12 years old and I’m camping with my dad, sister, friend Olivia, and her dad, and Olivia’s sister. Anyway, Olivia is REALLY hyper. She makes a MESS. If my dad’s tent gets wreck I’m dead. They are bringing their own tent but we got to share a campsite. I want to relax around the fire without my friend bugging me. We are best friends. She a nice kid. she’s 9 years old. so what can i do to make her calmer?

I’ll be camping in the NY area from August 13-16, and am in desperate need of a REAL campground. I live in Michigan, and campgrounds here have trees, dirt roads, and wooded affordable sites. No campsite that just offers you a piece of land to plant your tent on should cost .00 a night. A campground near my house in northern Michigan is .00 a night honor system, first come first serve. Anyone know some good, rustic campgrounds in or near Niagara Falls or Buffalo? Thanks!
We are looking for a place where we can drive to a campsite, then pitch our tent. So many campsites either require you to backpack in your stuff, or they are just for you to park your RV.
A group of friends and I are planning on going camping this summer somewhere in New England. When reading about the Rates for each campsite, I noticed that nearly all the rates for each campsite was for 2 adults and 2-3 children under 18… with a fee of 8 dollars per additional person.
Together, we are a group of 6 between the ages of 18-20, and I’m curious as to how they will charge us.
Has anyone ever gone camping with friends instead of family? How did they charge you?
My fiance and I are planning a weekend getaway to the Lake George region in the Adirondack Park in upstate New York. We have never been there so I’m really starting from scratch concerning where to go, what to do, and were to stay. Some details about us: I’m 21 and he’s 24. We don’t really drink or party hardcore or anything, we’re quite mellow. And we’re not into extreme activities like white-water rafting. We do like to have fun but we also want to relax. We want to camp in a tent, but we don’t want to stay somewhere that there’s going to be little kids screaming everywhere or only 5 feet away from the next-door tent. But we do like activities like hiking, fishing, tubing, walking, ATV-ing, jet skiing, boating, etc. If you are familiar with the Lake George area your input would really be helpful. We don’t want to pay extra outrageous rates per night for a campsite on a campground that has facilities and activities we will never use or participate in like children’s activities. I found a campground that actually charges per night for a dry tent campsite on the river! Outrageous! Anyway, your input would be helpful. Oh and there needs to be restrooms and showers on the campground. Or if you know of another area that you think we would like better feel free to suggest other places. We are trying to stay somewhat close to Massachusetts like within a not-too-long driving distance, so anywhere within the southern to mid areas of Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire (but we’ve been to NH plenty of times so it wouldn’t be anything new to us).
Thanks
My wife and I were thinking of getting away from things for a weekend and decided to go camping. We were hoping for a more isolated campground or a campground where each campsite is decently separated. Any suggestions? Oh and we live around Santa Rosa we were thinking of going somewhere more northish….
I’m looking for any advice pointing towards a good, affordable campsite, and affordable cabins/hotels in Tennessee in the Appalachian’s. A place that is ideally located close to canoing and horseback riding.
I’m not worried about raccoons or wildlife like that, but I’m more worried about poisonous snakes and bears. I camp alone occasionally and I would like some safety tips.
I know the basics about keeping food and other scented items away from the campsite (for bears). But I guess I’m looking for tips while hiking. What signs to be aware of, and what to do if I spot a bear or snake while hiking? Even worse, what if they spot me?
