I’m going with a few friends to a cabin in the mountains this weekend & am looking for some good ideas foodwise. We will have a grill and a campfire as well as the kitchen in the cabin, but would prefer to cook outdoors. Thinking about a pork tenderloin for Saturday but would like some other ideas besides the usual bbq sides.
Any suggestions?
Okay, I am a boy scout that needs All of you to help me fill this requirement. "Plan two breakfasts, three lunches, and two suppers that can be made over a campfire."
Does anyone know any camping recipes that involve marshmallows…other than s’mores? I’ve also heard about banana boats, and I’m thinking about it.
Simple marshmallow camping recipes that involve roasting the marshmallow(s) over a campfire, please!
or at least some other way to melt the marshmallow…
** This is a tip for those who backpack, camp, hike, etc. It’s also a great idea to have these items in a survival kit. The practicality of this tip is due to the steel wool lighting, igniting even when damp or wet. This tip is not meant to replace the traditional lighter or match, but to add a reliable option to a necessity … especially in a dire situation. ** Use CAUTION
I will be camping the next couple of days in my local mountains. I will be hunting dove… What would be some great ways to cook fresh dove while camping in my local mountains??? I will have a campfire, pan and what ever ingredients you awesome guys and gals tell me to bring, ready to go for the fresh dove… Thanks so much… James
I just want a place where I will not see any other people and has a creek, river, or small lake. Accessible by a 2wd Jeep Liberty ideal, or via a short hike (less than 2 miles). I want to fish and have a campfire. I am a very considerate camper and do not litter or destroy the environment. Any secret spots out there? I won’t tell anyone, I promise.
Going camping soon. I plan on hiking and eating a lot… gotta keep warm, right? Got any good recipes to share? Over the campfire, coals, or on a stove. I’m hiking in about 2 miles, but I can carry some items. Thanks!
