Alaska Kids Camp is a place to explore and discover the beauty and mystery of Nature, to learn important skills like survival, wilderness travel, and multi-media production. There is also training and experience for those interested in ecology, stewardship and sustainable living. This includes tree planting and harvesting, gardening and landscaping and personal development including nutrition, fitness and spa servies: meditation, massage and counseling. Our mission is being the best wilderness school and retreat in Alaska. Every Saturday we guide a group of kids into Alaska’s great outdoors, film the journey and then share the highlights with the parents, kids and community. This way many others can enjoy and better remember some of the most important aspects of living- having fun, being self-sufficient and working well with others. www.GeoCities.com/AlaskaKidsCamp

Near National Park Redwood Sjaak and Doris are looking for a place outside to stay the night. On their motorbikes theres several luggage such as a ridge tent, sleeping bag and things for cooking. With this baggage it is possible for our motorbike travellers to stay also a night outside under the sky instead staying in a hotel. Doris shows her skills in setting up a ridge tent and together they are preparing an one-course dinner. This will always taste if you are staying outside with enough spices to make the meal more delicious. The next morning theres some icing over the ridge tent. A good preparation if the temperature will drop further below freezing point. www.reismotor.nl
We arrive at the public use cabin #4 at Red Shirt Lake after canoing across the lake from the hiking trail. Everyone unpacks and gear up to begin fishing for pike. A beaver is spotted swimming in the lake and we watch a float plane on the water.
