It’s 2 adults & 3 kids from ages 7-14. We’re using google maps but i don’t know which order do put the destinations in. We’re starting in Rockland County, NY. I want to know the following:
Are these good places that everyone will enjoy?
What should we add?
What should we leave out?
What order should i put them in on google maps?
How many days do you think it will be? (eating and sleeping included)
How expensive do you think it will be?
We want to go to the following places:
Universal Studios
Walt Disney World
Niagara Falls
Yellowstone National Park
Jenny Lake
Jackson Hole
Grand Canyon National Park
Golden Gate Bridge
THANX!!!!!!
Jackson Hole/Yellowstone and Disney World from New York? — That’s a lot of skipping-around. If you’re from New York, I guess you can handle snow. There’s snow in Yellowstone pretty-much October to May.
I think you need to trim this trip, unless you’re planning on an entire month or longer. I’d do the north (Niagara, Great Lakes, Mount Rushmore maybe, Badlands, Custer National Monument/Wounded Knee, Grand Teton/Yellowstone/Glacier, Pacific Northwest, then maybe MAYBE San Francisco/Monterey one summer. Do Disney World – L.A. on another trip.
Hey — Most RVs are noisy hell above 55MPH and can’t exceed 65MPH downhill with a tailwind. When travelling by RV and doing any sightseeing, I usually make about 200 miles per day.
Places I’d add include:
Glacier National Park
Southern Utah (five National Parks, several National Monuments) and Vegas en route to Grand Canyon and L.A. But I would make those another trip.
Just my opinion:
Universal Studios — Why?
Walt Disney World — Expensive, but I guess most people go at least once. If you’re going to Universal Studios you’ll be near Disney Land.
Niagara Falls — Just not that big a thrill. See Fort Niagara if you go to the Falls.
Yellowstone National Park — What time of year?
Jenny Lake
Jackson Hole — Do you ski? The scenery is nice.
Grand Canyon National Park — Go to the North Rim. South Rim is less beautiful and in the middle of ugly desert.
Golden Gate Bridge — Why? I’ve actually had to drive an RV around San Francisco and the Bay Area, it wasn’t fun.
