Britain is a fantastic place to go on holiday and there’s hundreds of great destinations to choose from. Caravanning is seen as a distinctly British thing and thousands of people go off on holiday in the UK every year. Due to the higher average temperatures, the south tends to contain most of the popular destinations. Cornwall

Lots of people who purchase caravans for sale decide to go to the West Country for their first trip. Probably the most popular choice is Cornwall due to the dependable weather, good beaches and even better surf. The more popular places tend to be around Perranporth and Newquay. Cornwall’s Atlantic coast is extremely popular with the surfing community.

Dorset

The rolling countryside and brilliant coastline of Dorset make it a popular caravan destination. The larger towns such as Weymouth and Bournemouth bring attract lots of visitors in the summer months. The Jurassic coast of Dorset is excellent for fossil hunting and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cumbria

Cumbria, and the Lake District in particular contain some of the most breathtaking scenery in the UK which is why so many people travel there. You can use any of the hundreds of campsites in the area as a base for exploring the wider countryside. Those who love walking and being outdoors will find the Lake District to be one of the best areas in the UK.

The South Downs

The South Downs has only recently become a national park and provides some great holiday destinations. The town of Eastbourne is considered the eastern edge of the park and the Itchen Valley in Hampshire serves as the western edge. The South Downs way is a 99mile walking route that links Winchester and Eastbourne. The towns or Lewes, Brighton and Arundel are also popular.
