Visitors Health Insurance – Liaison International

Liaison International visitor insurance plan can be purchased by both non US and US citizens. Individuals, spouse and children are also eligible to be covered under this plan. Children should be more than 14 days and less than 19 years old. The liaison international visitor insurance plan is valid for a minimum period of 5 days and can be bought for a period of 6 months.

Individuals who are eligible for coverage under this visitors health insurance plan can be divided into 2 classes. Class 1 individuals are Canadian or US citizens who are planning a travel outside their homeland. Class 2 people are those non US citizens who are coming into the US from other countries. Class 2 set of individuals are not eligible for this visitor insurance plan if they have been staying in the US continuously for a period of 18 months.

Coverage effectively starts when the completed application form is received by the insurance provider along with the premium payment. Individuals can also mention their preferred effective date if any in the application form. Otherwise, effective start date of the visitors’ insurance plan begins on the date the insured departs from the native land provided the application form is approved prior to the travel.


Coverage ends when the insured returns to the home country or on the date indicated in the insurance ID card. Coverage could also end when the policy expires and the insured does not renew the same or the date when you become ineligible to be covered under the insurance plan.

The Liaison visitor insurance plan offers various coverage benefits like doctor consultation, intensive care, prescription drugs, in-patient and out-patient admissions, returning of mortal remains, emergency repatriation and evacuation, accidental death and dismemberment and terrorism coverage.

The Liaison International visitor’s insurance plan can be renewed online if the renewal period is for more than 3 months. A nominal renewal fee is charged for the same.

Individuals can also choose other optional coverage for adventure sports like parachuting, motor scooter riding, motor cycle riding, bungee jumping, hang gliding, snowboarding, snow skiing, water skiing and snowmobiling.

Cancellation of the visitors insurance plan can be done by submitting a written request before the effective start date of the plan in order to get full reimbursement. If the request is submitted after the start of the plan, a cancellation fee would be charged and the unused portion of the plan would be reimbursed provided no claims had been submitted.
