One of the most enjoyable activities of camping in an RV is sitting around the calming, hypnotizing flames of a campfire at night. Due to the ash bore epidemic, strict firewood restrictions have to be enforced. Also, many areas ban campfires because of dry conditions and the danger of wildfires or forest fires being started. Because of this, more and more campgrounds have strict rules limiting or forbidding wood campfires.
One of my favorite luxury camping supplies is a campfire in a can. This unique item looks like a red, round cake-taker and can be carried from place to place with a handle. The best feature of this type of campfire is the fact that there is no smoke or ash residue.
Because I have asthma and other breathing problems, the actual smell of smoke can precipitate an attack and make my surroundings quite uncomfortable. With this type of campfire, I can rest assured that I will be able to enjoy the warm glow of the campfire flames with no ill effects.
In addition, there is no danger of flying sparks floating through the air, thus eliminating the threat of starting a forest fire.
The campfire in a can is a wonderful substitute for the “real deal”; and in many ways, it is even better!

I am a bit of an insomniac so when I am camping I like to have all of the comforts possible to make sure I will be able to fall asleep quickly and get plenty of rest. A warm comfortable sleeping bag is a must, along with a comfortable pillow. Such as the one on your bed at home. A soft pad to place your sleeping bag on is a must. And for that ultimate comfort get a foldable camp cot.
A camping cot will not only make the surface under your camp pad softer and more comfortable. But, I always feel safer when I’m not sleeping on the ground. Being up a little higher just seems to be more comfortable. It’s easier to get up and down, and it gives the illusion of being slightly protected from insects and other crawlies.
There are a lot of cot choices these days. You can get the military style cot or any number of fold-able cots. And lots of different sizes and colors as well. If you want something a little fancier than the typical folding camp cot. Pacific outdoors makes a padded cot that is also adjustable so you can lounge in it as well as lie down.
There are also tent cots and and air beds on cots. But, my favorite is the Coleman Big Sky Over sized Steel Spring Bed. This is another quality Coleman product and comes with a 1.75 inch mattress and a springy steel spring construction that makes it feel like sleeping on a regular bed. In fact on some of the reviews people said they used it to sleep on every night. I wouldn’t recommend this but, it could come in handy when guests are around.
Another thing that will make your camp site feel like home is having a folding camping table or two. Like all of the other camping gear there are a lot of choices to choose from these days. You can just get a simple folding table for extra room for food or cooking. Or you can get a table with storage underneath for cooking or there are elaborate fold away kitchen and camp kitchen units available.

When I camp I like to have at least a couple of lanterns for lighting those dark mountain nights. Plus, some extra flashlights for quick trips to the restroom or walking at night or for searching for things in the dark. Plus if you are startled at night you want something quick, that will light with the push of a button.
Camping chairs have come a long way since the old camp stools of the past. There are tons of great choices available these days. And the camping chair is a very versatile and useful camping accessory plus they can double as beach and backyard accessories as well.
