It has to feed A LOT of people, and it has to be very portable. Cooking it on site is not really an option, so it has to be able to sit in a cooler overnight and still be presentable the next day. We will be camping, and there will be no electricity. Any ideas would be appreciated, I just need some inspiration.
going camping for 4 days and don’t want to have to survive off of hotdogs the whole time. Won’t have pots or pans, just an open fire. If I throw a thing of potatoes into foil and in the fire, will that work or will they be burned to a crisp?
We are going camping Yosemite for 9 days. We will have a stove and we already have the typical meals planned like chilli, hot dogs, bacon & eggs, sandwiches and stuff like that but we need more since we will be eating 9 breakfasts, 9 lunches, and 8 dinners. We also have to keep in mind of the quantity of stuff we bring since all of our food have to fit in the bear lockers provided. Please help with some good easy recipes.
i really prefer fresh foods over dehydrated or food that doesn’t need refrigeration. something that can be kept in a small cooler with a block of ice for a couple days and hold up.
I’m going to be leaving for a class camping trip in about a week, and it’s my job in my food group to bring food and cook dinner on one of the nights. Since one of the girls in our group can’t eat meat, we’ve decided on a vegetable stir-fry. What would be the best recipe for this? And adding on to that question, how exactly would you cook rice while camping?
Since my state is under a burn ban, I have to use a Coleman stove for this.
I am going camping this weekend and am looking for some good food ideas to bring. I have a small gas grill and the fire to cook with. I am just stick of hotdogs and smores, we make them every time we go camping. Does anyone have any good camping recipes? thanks!!
Hi, I am looking for camping recipes. Specifically, ones that do not require a Dutch oven. Can I use a disposable baking tin? I would love to cook a cobbler in a tin. Has anyone done this before? I HAVE made "coffee can cake" before, but today’s coffee cans are lined and can’t use those. ALL recipes would be GREAT! Thanks a bunch!
Yolanda, that recipe sounds so yummy, but I just dont want to have to purchase the dutch oven right now. I AHVE cooked meatloaf in a tin, just don’t know about fruit acid eating the tin…lol
Ohhhh, Kellie21..gonna HAVE to do that. Sounds SO good!!
Wow! These ideas and recipes are GREAT! Thank you so much, everyone!
My friend and I are going on a fishing trip and plan to cook what we catch. I know how to cook fish so my real question is, if the fish are not biting what are some good fall back meal ideas?
