Suggestions for an East Coast road trip?
Posted: April 16th, 2011 | Author: Mitch | Filed under: Camp Sites | Tags: Camp Sites, east coast, maine, massachusetts, new hampshire, ohio pennsylvania, road trip, vermont, weather | 4 Comments »Hi all
some friends of mine and myself are planning on taking a road trip through the east coast this summer. We’re thinking sometime in June I believe. We are starting from Michigan and ending in Maine. On the way there we would like to go through Ohio, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and then finally to Maine. And on the way home, we would like to go through Vermont and New York.
We are planning on camping the majority of the trip, which is why we waited until mid June or so, so the weather is hopefully up to par for camping.
I’m curious if anyone has any suggestions? Maybe good campgrounds, or when weather is best, or great places to visit in those areas? Anything at all really would be helpful, as I know nothing about the east coast. We are only making this a week or so trip, so we don’t have too much time to spend everywhere. Maine is our focus, so we will spend the most time there.
Thanks for any advice or any information at all. It all helps!!

The Arizona Republic
Members of a Valley church, including the pastor, were detained at a Prescott campground Saturday morning after they were determined to be undocumented by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
Campers at the White Spar Campground called the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office complaining that the group was singing and had music on around 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. said Dwight Develyn, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. Officers arrived at the campgrounds around 7 a.m.
Develyn said he believes the nine people detained were part of a church group, and noise complaints are fairly common at the campground.
ICE spokesman Vincent Picard said he didn’t know about this particular incident, but once someone is deemed undocumented, ICE’s next step is to seek to remove them from the country.
Law enforcement and immigration officials couldn’t confirm on Saturday the identities of those taken into custody. But Alfredo Aragon, a Christian missionary out of California working in Phoenix, said the people detained are leaders of the Phoenix church Christiana Agape.
Aragon said the group of about 13 people left for Prescott early Saturday morning for a retreat. He said sheriff’s deputies initially asked about the noise and eventually determined that nine in the group were in the country illegally.
He said church Pastor Manuel Maldonado is among the detained. Aragon said the church leaders should be given special treatment because they weren’t breaking any laws.
Aragon said the group was transported to Phoenix Saturday night and said leaders from area churches are gathering to find out how to get the church members legal help.
and what the heck were they doing "singing" at 3 or 4 a.m.??
How soon are people going to be camping out for a Playstation 3?
Posted: April 15th, 2011 | Author: Mitch | Filed under: Camp Sites | Tags: 5 million, any guesses, europe, lauched, launch, playstation, playstation 3, release date, xbox, xbox 360 | 4 Comments »Now that they officially delayed the Playstation 3 release date in Europe until 03/2007 and there is a rumor going around that there will only be about 500,000 units available in the U.S. on November 17th 2006. How many days before launch are people going to camped out? When the Xbox 360 lauched they had 1.5 million available and I saw people camped out for days before it came out. Any guesses?

Where can I find camping in northwest Florida, without going to a campground or a state park?
Posted: April 13th, 2011 | Author: Mitch | Filed under: Camp Sites | Tags: Camp Sites, camping, dogs, guns, rvs, target practice, tent | 2 Comments »My wife and I recently moved down here from Washington, and miss being able to drive an hour in any direction and be out in the woods with nobody around for miles. We’re looking for an area where we can just go and set up our tent, let the dogs run, do some target practice with our guns, and be alone. So far all we’ve experienced is campgrounds where we have to worry about the big RVs "camping" in the spots on either sides of us.

I have only two stipulations. I want a tent site, and I want a waterfront site. Why is it that camping is now looked at as an rv and trailer destination and tent sites are few and far between? Nobody does real camping anymore? Jeez! (if anyone knows any good spots in maine/NH, let me know! thanks!!
Where can me and some buddies go camping?
Posted: April 11th, 2011 | Author: Mitch | Filed under: Camp Sites | Tags: buddies, camping | 1 Comment »Me and some buddies want to go camping for a night, but we don’t want to go to an actual campground. We could go anywhere near Chicago or even a little into Wisconsin, so are there any places that you can camp at around there without being a campground? Parking is an issue too. Thanks for the help.
