What are some tips about traditional camping that I should know?

Yes that’s good advice too. There are many things to be aware of when camping from fire safety to tent placement to equipment choices. You know about bears, how about skeeters and bee’s? The strongest skeeter deterrent is DEET based sprays. Setting your tent in a breezy area will reduce the skeeters hanging around you. Keeping your camp clean and no cooking near the tent keeps the bee’s from hanging around camp.
Any way there is so much info out there you could write a book on the subject and many all ready have so I will give you a link to great info.

That is true. I didn’t have any problems with bears but I did have a squirrel chew a hole in my tent in order to get to my food. Also make sure you wear plenty of sunblock and bug spray. A bad sunburn and getting eaten by bugs can be annoying and dangerous.
