i have a 3 year old and a 4 year old and we camp at the beach all the time just tske toys lots of blankts and parents sleep on the side with the ziper for safety other thn that enjoy b safe

Do not become unaware by use of drugs/alcohol…the child could easily steal away if parents are unconscious.

Make sure that the weather is nice. Bring favorite toys/blankets. Plan on a day or 2 max. Don’t go too far in case you need to return home.

Keep him in the site as much as you can but let him have some freedom and have a fire and cook over it and take him on little walks to see the senery and stuff like that

My dad always kept me in a harness tied to the clothesline. Leave-no-trace.

Make it interesting for them.
Try getting them involved in the process of getting ready to go camping.
Let them try to help when you start setting up your campsite.
Keep a real close eye on them if out in woods and near water as they can wonder off real quick.

Keep one eye on the kid at all times, use a toddler leash and keep jr with you at all times. use a child carrier when hiking strollers just don’t work to well on the trail.

If your cool jr is cold. Be sure you bring enough warm wear to change into if you and jr get wet.

Drink plenty of fluids so jr will too. Keep a sippy cup handy at all times filled with his favorite drink.

Have emergency supplies on hand to treat cuts, burns, sunburn, bug bites, and exposure to poisen oak or ivy.

Explore everything, if it’s a safe bug or critter to pick up and look at do so, play with sticks rocks even make something with them.

At night sing songs and give jr his own flash light and hunt for things like flying bats and bugs or a light show in the smoke of the fire.
