Me and some friends of mine were in the woods one night a few years ago and we just piled some wood and pine needles and other flammable things on the ground in a sand flat that was part of a field in the miidle of the woods. It took us about 15 minutes to pile up enough stuff to get a fire going and then after we started it we just kept adding and adding for another 2 hours or so. When we woke up the next morning the embers were still giving off some color and a little heat.
