Camping soon? Any Tips?

We are staying in a cabin with cable, a kitchen, beds, bathroom, and running water.
So I know its not REAL camping…
Anyway… they don’t provide you with anything.
We have gone to the same place before and the same cabin.. but I ALWAYS forget stuff.
Can anyone let me know what I should bring.
(:
Thank youu!
Bring plenty of towels, sunscreen, and especially insect repellent. I just found that attaching a bounce sheet to your clothing somewhere keep the mosquitoes away. No nasty chemicals, no nasty smell. Also, a bottle of white vinegar which takes the sting and itch away from any bites that you may get. I always bring a camera and binoculars. Be sure to pack your toiletries in zip lock bags so there is no leakage. I use travel bottles that I keep on hand so that I don’t have to lug full bottles. Make sure that you bring the kind of shoes that you will need. If you need any special seasonings to cook with, add another zip lock bag. I always bring extra trash bags for the dirty laundry. Sunglasses are also good, as is a compass or gps. Don’t forget batteries and flashlights. If you’ve got kids, bring the stuff for smores. Got any good ghost stories? Does the cabin have a coffee pot? The best thing is to relax. Oh, and don’t forget to take immodium or it’s generic equivalent. Not only does it stop diarrhea in its tracks, it will many times cure nausea and stomach pain. You’ll need tylenol or another pain medicine and a first aid kit. Did I cover it all? Probably not, but hopefully I’ve got you on the right track. Have a great time! OOPs…one more thing…umbrellas, alternate plans for rainy days.
1. cooking and cleaning stuff:
pots and pans, cooking utensils like a spatula, wooden spoon, etc.
cutting board and knife
anything specific you need for the food you are cooking – mixing bowls, can opener, etc.
Dishes, cups, bowls and silverware for everyone
cleaning stuff – paper towels, SOS pad, dishtowels, dish washing soap
2. Personal Items – clothing, toiletries, bug spray, sunscreen, towels, washcloths, soap.
3. group activity items – games/deck of cards, puzzle, crossword puzzle book, guitar for singalong (songbook), camera, local trail maps, tinder and kindling for fire starting, matches/lighter, sticks for marshmallow cooking, thin rope for making a hanging line (to dry towels, dishtowels etc.), tarps or awnings that you can put up for shade/rain protection. Folding outdoor chairs, flashlights/lanterns.
Hint – make a list of what you pack this year. Take a copy of this list with you. When you realize that you forgot something, put it on your list. Once you get home, look over your list, take off anything that you didn’t use as well, put it in a safe place (like with your camping supplies perhaps?) and you’ll be ready for next year!
