im punking on the brink…all that ugly chemical crap moreover this stuff is quiet expensive….use army combat rations !!! :) ( no u.s.-rations…same crap) substantial, cheap and tasty…my recommendation: german army field rations called “epa”

Ramen noodles and high mileage…until you get to the next town. Then consume nutrients for the next section. Repeat. Over and over and over again.

Where do you find the Military MRE’s?

  6. 6 rongenman said at 12:13 pm on September 8th, 2009:

Military MREs are ok. however, I like fresh eggs, bacon, ham, spam, cereal, hot grits, oatmeal, french toast, when my sons and I backpack, we are not out to cover 70 miles per day, we go backpacking to get away from the crowds so we can ‘CAMP” ..we always have a great campsite….I will be posting videos soon.

@rongenman I agree, although I do more of just “hiking through” “tactics” so I am going to stick to MRE’s but trust me I am a BIG camper so its always a great meal when I get to cook up some bacon out in the woods :D Ill be sure to check your vids out!

This is for people who are smart enough for no that If you’re going camping for 1 week, you can’t bring fresh food and canned food doesn’t always suffice.

  13. 13 WitchofSnakeMountain said at 3:35 pm on March 21st, 2010:

Good idea. MREs are great, but quite heavy for the amount. This lets you carry more food for the same weight.

Only downside is the need for water and/or cooking.

    Good thoughts, thanks!
