Since you want to take it with you instead of fishing for it, may I suggest a wonderful breakfast. There is nothing better to wake up to in a campground than to fresh coffee, bacon, eggs and pancakes. To die for.
However, when we go camping we try our best to catch enough fish to cook over the open fire. But when in doubt always be prepared. We always bought steaks to grill and potatoes for baking on the open fire.
If you have children, a fun project for them to do on the open grill or fire:
You will need aluminum foil, ground beef, sliced carrots, sliced potatoes, salt and pepper.
Spray a little Pam on the 12" x 12" piece of foil.
Make small meatballs with the ground beef and divide equally amoung the pieces of foil. Place the sliced carots, sliced potatoes on top of meatballs. Add salt / pepper.
Seal foil thoroughly and place on grill or around the open fire and cook for about 20-30 minutes. Using good tongs move the packages around every 5 – 10 minutes for even cooking. This can also be done in your oven if you are using a camper.
Enjoy your camping trip. Don’t forget the s’mores. LOL
Grilled fish with rice(with electricity)
