Well, my family and I camp often, and we like to eat the following:

GORP (not a dish…) – m&m’s, peanuts, pretzals, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips, granola, dried fruit, etc mixed in a bag
Hot Dogs and Hamburgers- self explanitory
    Grilled Fish – trout etc
Cup ‘O Noodles (not a dish)

Grilled anything really… and anything that can be cooked quickly with a fire. Also, any high energy foods like GORP etc.

We used to make baked apples. you cut the top off an apple, and scoop out the seeds(don’t core the apple completely). Fill with sugar cinnamon and butter. Put top of apple back on. Wrap in aluminum and place in fire(also works in the oven) Cook until fork tender. Is a sweet treat and fun to make.

Toast is good just some toasting bread held over embers with a green stick, any canned foods like spaghetti or baked beans or ravioli or creamed sweet corn heated up in a pot on the fire (embers only) or a camp oven is good and you can put watr in it and put the can in but be careful opening it. Roast ptatoes in foil are a good snack – hope this helps oh and cerial – kids will eat dried fruit with dried cerial

S’mores, trail mix, chex mix, dried fruit, nuts, hot dogs (if kept chilled until ready to cook), baked beans, chips, sardines, corn on the cob, and beef jerky to make up for the sardines idea.
