Would camping equipment, rainproof gear, long underwear be good stuff to donate to Japan?

I don’t have money, but I have a lot of redundancy in my camping equipment that’s of a good quality.
Socks, pants, rain gear, gloves, a couple of extra stoves and a few hats… just off of the top of my head.
Is there a way to have it shipped over there for free and I can verify that the Japanese people aren’t getting ripped off by scammers?
A couple of extra pairs of shoes, too.
Everything will, of course, be clean before donation.
I just want ideas from the boys in blue that are clued into the scams.
My supplies could help five or more people.
I’d like to do it and know that I’m not getting shammed.
I think I’m going to email the Japanese embassy for ides.
‘ideAs’, sorry.
Riding My Pony – I’m very well aware that I’m on the law enforcement site.
Can you guys point me in the right direction, please?

You would do better by selling it here and sending money to the Red Cross or some other reputable charity. The chances of your stuff getting to someone who could use it is very slim. Just the cost of shipping would probably me more than it is worth.
