Also…
I don’t know how much you like to rough it. My husband used to only take what he could carry on his back – until I came along and then it turned into a whole new camping experience for him. We usually camp out of our car (at a pull up campsite)…so we are able to take more stuff… He was just happy that I enjoy camping as much as I do.
But here are some things that we don’t leave home without.
Tent fan… we can’t live w/ out ours.
Metal grill… that you throw over the campfire
Long skewers for hot dogs or marshmallows
Water shoes… if you plan on hiking through streams or waterfalls.
Cooler
Firewood…of course
Fire starter logs… makes starting your campfire sooo much easier.
Small ax – for chopping larger pieces of firewood.
Lantern (for night time reading)
A good book…
Head lamp… looks kind of dorky…but a lifesaver if you are setting up in the dark.
Towel
Coffee press…
Small snacks (jerky, sunflower seeds, etc.) and water to take on hikes.
I wish I had a nickel for every time this question gets asked here, no offense meant as I only wish to help, but I think this question gets asked at least twice a day every single day, it’s just a matter of deciding what you will really need, here’s a good list to choose from………………………………………………..
One thing I always bring is a paper and pen so I can write down what I forgot on this trip so I dont forget it on the next trip. Also, write down the stuff you brought that you didnt need; extra crap just gets in the way, as well as xtra clothes. This is a good idea to do anytime you travel, whether its camping or any other trip.
flash light, bug spray, one pair of extra clothing, some water and soap, a tent, sleeping bag/blanket, paper, matches, knife, first aid stuff, watch, phone.
a tent……water….hiking gear……some hammers……lots of wood….maybe pots and pans…….marshmallows…….a stick……….some crackers…..etc
I have never gone camping on a horse. We now always camp in the forest in our RV. Luckily we camp very close to home & stay all summer. We leave the RV at the camp spot & come home & re supply once a week. Anything we forgot on previous trip we take back the next trip.
One item probably even most die hard campers may have never heard of is:
Rome Round Pudgy Pie Iron – Cast Iron Campfire Pie Irons.
As much as people love the traditional square design, there is a vocal crowd of passion for our round Pie Iron. It’s all in the way the cooker seals the food. Locking in flavors whether it’s a hamburger, quick bread or dessert. With a sandwich, the round design crimps the corners of the bread to form a firm seal (similar to ravioli.)
Camping with a horse? You can take everything including the kitchen sink. My pack is just under 4000 cubic inches so I take only the necessities for a 5 day trip. Necessities does include a change of underwear and socks each day.
Love the Playstation design of this website, Could the developer email me as soon as they can.
