Is it safe to transport ammunition in a backpack?

Keep it in the containers. Don’t carry any sources of heat (say, lighter, matches etc) in the same spot as your backpack.
As long as you treat it with respect it’ll do the same too you and not turn you into swiss cheese.
as long as you dont have matches in your bag.
