Is it better to have propane lanterns or battery powered lanterns while camping?

Safety being a key factor, battery lanterns have been improving greatly in the last few years some of the newer products out there are as bright as some single mantel kerosene lanterns. Led technology also puts the burn time right up there with kerosene and with the use of rechargeable batteries, it puts the subject to rest.
I have this one for my back pack

Personally I prefer propane lanterns. They seem to last longer and are a brighter then the battery powered ones.
Safety and the ages of the people using them.
No Flames in Tents!
I prefer the battery, only because my daughter likes to play with it.
If you’ll have small unruly children around your campsite it’s best to use battery-powered lanterns for safety sake…no, they will not put out as much light as a propane lantern, but they won’t set stuff on fire either.
