Dutch Oven Techniques

A couple of different ways for camp cooking with a Dutch Oven. The first technique demonstrates how to use coals from the campfire by cooking an inexpensive beef roast. The second technique shows how to use charcoal brickettes by cooking a potatoes recipe. Either technique could be used to cook either meal an obviously a whole array of other ones. Thank you for the great videos. Please keep up the great recipes and tips. I do not get out anymore now that the kids are almost out of the house. But I cannot wait to I start camping again.
Those potatoes look sooo good! I guess I should share my outdoor cooking feats here, too!
Please do share some ” cooking feats” with us.
Great info! I’d have made the mistake of putting in the veggies from the start.
How long did you “start the process” on the cookstove before putting it on the coals? Could you show us some desert recipes too?
I love dutch oven cooked meals! Just got a dutch oven recently and am looking forward to seasoning it.
Mostly I like to just brown the meat and get the water boiling on the stove. I doubt that takes more than 15-20 minutes. Then it can cook all afternoon over the coals. Longer is better….well at least more tender.
As luck would have it, a Dutch Oven baking video is just around the corner perhaps within days. If you subscribe you will be notified when it posts.
I might suggest you season that oven on your barbeque instead of in the oven, else the grease will stink up your house.
Thanks-Ken
Great video, made me hungry. Thanks for sharing.
