I live in Michigan. We’re planning on going the following route: Michigan > Pennsylvania > Connecticut > Massachusetts > New Hampshire > Maine > Vermont > New York > Michigan.
I believe we’re going the beginning/middle of June 2010 and plan on finding campgrounds to stay at rather than hotels.
If anyone has any advice or neat things about any of those states, weather, campgrounds around there, or ANYTHING AT ALL please let me know! I don’t know ANYTHING about the east coast soo I’m going into this trip blind but excited
Thanks a bunch!
I mean michigan to OHIO then to Penn.
you can’t go that route. check a map.
as for weather, there is no way to predict it.
It’s actually much more efficient if you route it across the top of New York and New England
To get a general idea of what this routing looks like >which does pass thru a lot of wilderness and has campsites galore pop this into mapquest or whatever
Wherever MI>Niagara Falls NY>Watertown NY>Lake Placid NY >Port Henry NY>Barre VT >Woodsville NH>Lincoln NH >North Conway NH>>Gorham NH>Millenocket ME [get back to me on camping in Baxter SP] >Bar Harbor ME [ you will need reservation to camp in Acadia NP and Blackwoods is a great CS>Truro MA >[ there arw campsites on Cape Cod >Fall River MA >Newport RI >Charleston RI [there are campsites in the nearby Burlingame SP] >
Bear Mountain NY >>Port Jervis NY >Stroudsburg PA>Wherever MI
Feel free to write if you need more info
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
