Cheap places to stay between Alberta and Arizona?

Posted: March 7th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Camp Sites | Tags: , , , , , , , | 3 Comments »

We’ll be driving from Lethbridge to Phoenix, and want to do it as cheap as possible…
We’ll be going through Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.
Are there any places to stay besides hotels that might be cheaper? Campgrounds, or somewhere we could tent, or hostels, or even a cheap motel? We’re open to just about anything. :)
Thanks! =)

Obviously camping would be the cheapest option.
Hostels suck if you’re staying w/ complete strangers…

Cheap hotel… sure Phoenix has lots of those. Van Buren street near downtown would have lots especially…

you can compare hotel prices here:

While Almeis is correct in regards to camping being the cheapest, I don’t reccomend it in Idaho or Montana right now. Unless you don’t mind it being snowy. Super 8 motels are littered everywhere. Also, go onto Craigslist to find bed and breakfasts. Moscow Idaho has a few little cute ones and also has hotels. But yeah, unless you are driving up after May, then you best not be camping.

Camping would be the least expensive. There are plenty of stretches of Montana and Idaho which are so far from any structure, it is feasible to camp and see if anyone reacts.

Pick up a good car camping guidebook to plan your trip.
