Holidaying in France and in fact camping has changed dramatically over the years. More people are opting for this type of holiday so if you camp in France you will be sure to be taken care of. Camping spots are more than ever like resorts and with family-sized, fully equipped tents and mobile home, camping is easy.
In the old days, camping was never really a relaxing holiday, but it is now and cam sites have become more like resorts with restaurants, swimming pools and all kinds of entertainment. The whole family will love it! Visit a coastal or a country site, or even one that allows access to both of these areas, and if you grow bored, just pack up and move on.
Campsites are very well maintained and organized in such a way that everyone’s needs are catered for. Careful planning could find you camping n a spot where you have access to both the coast line and the interior countryside. Exploring both these options really makes for an exciting holiday. If you have your bicycles with you, even better, you don’t have to drive, and you get exercise too.
There are so many different areas in France where you will find beautiful camp sites. If you think the Cot ‘dAzure is only for the rich and famous think a gain. Take Gran and Grandad with you, they will love it too.
Two lovely areas are Gascony and Royan, there is plenty to see and do. They are coastal areas, surrounded by stunning countryside and they are also wine and Cognac making areas. When in Royan visit the Island of OlĂ©ron, it is famous for its magnificent beaches and is home to an ancient citadel, holiday makers can gain access by bridge. The valley of the Charente River is a famous Cognac making area, so don’t leave without sampling some.
When in France you must sample local cuisine, as these are coastal areas, the seafood is excellent. Fine wine and fine food work hand in hand and all the money you save as camping is inexpensive; can be used for eating out. Great, that sorts out the cooking and washing up!
South of Bordeaux, you will find oyster farming and even more wine making, and in Bordeaux itself, the finest wines are made. They are world renowned for their skill in this area, so sampling is an absolute must. Take a day out for some serious win tasting and let the kids enjoy themselves with organized kids activities at the camping resort.
