We arrive at the public use cabin #4 at Red Shirt Lake after canoing across the lake from the hiking trail. Everyone unpacks and gear up to begin fishing for pike. A beaver is spotted swimming in the lake and we watch a float plane on the water.
Looks like a lot of fun!
She brought a table ???!!! You must be joking. Wouldn’t you all feel more comfortable back in California? I know we would feel better if you were back there.
We live in Alaska, Super645. And it wasnt a table, only a sling tri-stool for resting the butt that can double as a table. Used it on the really outback backpacking trips. Since I have leukemia and severe anemia I have tend to need more time to rest and the stool/table is really helpful!! I hope you dont live here in Alaska, hate to think uncourteous folks are my neighbors!
Star Flower, I do owe you an apology. If you have leukemia and anemia you are to be commended for making that trip at all. I’ve made it many times but mostly in the winter.
Again my apologies, just an old sourdough tired of Alaska not being Alaska anymore and jumping to conclusions.
rubber frogs in the weeds work awsome for pike in that lake, My favorite place to go for Pike in this area.
rubber frogs in the weeds work awsome for pike in that lake, My favorite place to go for Pike in this area. I have got the best bites by getting a rubber frog, sit juston the edge of the weed beds in your canoe and cast to the shore, twitch your frog back, moving it around5-10 inches a twitch right through the weeds or on the edges in between weed beds.
Thanks for all your help.
