France welcomes 82 million tourists each year, which makes it the number one destination in the world. By itself, the Eiffel Tower brings in 6.2 million visitors per year. But besides the history and culture of Paris, you’ll also find fabulous countryside, skiing and beaches.
France is internationally renowned for its cuisine and finding somewhere to eat isn’t a problem, whether you’re looking for Michelin starred restaurants, brasseries or bistros, which offer decent food at realistic prices. When you receive your restaurant bill, taxes and service charges will be included.
France is the home of wine and really is heaven for wine lovers who travel to France. The quality of the various wines you can discover is astounding, but try not to indulge in too much wine as French authorities are fairly strict when it comes to drivers who are over the limit. Beer is also popular, especially in the north.
The Ministry of Tourism rates every French hotel into four categories from a 1 to 4 star rating. This rating is demonstrated upon all hotel entrances on a blue crest. All hotels are required by law to display their ratings outside, or ensure they’re visible from outside, but it’s also okay to go in and ask for the best price available.
A beneficial choice would be to book a city center hotel, as they are generally very small and quiet. Be sure to check the parking arrangements, in big cities especially.
The Chambres d’hotes, otherwise called Bed and Breakfasts, are common rural establishments which can be found in rural areas. These operate on a nightly basis, as do the motel style hotels that lie along the roadside.
If you go to France for an extended stay, you can also rent an apartment, villa or house from a good website. If several of you are traveling in a group, this would serve as a good choice.

Making a camping list… What is practical? Do you like to get in with the great outdoors by cuddling with your loved ones around a campfire pit making Smore’s? Do you like to take a leisurely or vigorous trek through the woods to see all that Mother Nature has given us? Camping is the best way to achieve all of that on any getaway from your daily routine.
Experienced campers have gotten packing for camping down to an art. They always seem to know what to take and what they can do without a few days. Before you go camping you need to ask yourself a few questions that will give you more insight on what to pack such as how many days are you going to be gone and what can you live without?
Length of stay is a major factor when going camping. After you decide how long you will be away from home you can then decide how many meals you are planning on cooking and how elaborate you plan on making them. Most families that go camping just have sandwiches that make everything seem easy. A cooler, ice, sandwich meat, condiments such as mustard or mayonnaise, paper plates and drinks is about all you need for this feat.
Many avid campers go and camp just as if they were at home. They will pack pans to wash dishes in, dish soap, cutting boards and pots and pans just as if they were home. When we go camping we usually fix sandwiches for lunch and regular meals for breakfast and dinner. Preparing these items will make your list grow but really is no different than preparing them at home.
There are other staple items that you need also when planning a camping trip such as a tent, sleeping bags, pillows, toiletry items, propane cylinders if you plan on taking a gas grill, tarp, bug spray, snack food are just a few.
Anyone of all ages can go camping. Camping gets you in touch with nature as well as brings family closer together. Camping is relaxing as well as peaceful. After you camp a few times you will begin to learn what you need and what needs to be left behind.
Pontoons are great because of their maneuverability, allowing you to go just about everywhere, but no matter your location, you can’t very well keep in the shade if you’re on the open water. When you’re on your pontoon boat, without a certain accessory, you’re essentially completely open to things like rain, spray, and the sun’s rays. This in turn can keep you from getting the most enjoyment out of your pontoon, regardless of whether you’re angling, sightseeing, or just relaxing with family. Therefore, most pontoon owners rate the bimini top as an important add-on. Bimini tops get their name from Bimini, the westernmost part of the Bahamas, where boatmen originated this kind of extended canopy, putting them on their boats as a means of protection from the sun.
Now, bimini tops are available in a number of different configurations to suit the boat owner’s needs. In terms of bimini top materials, there are a number of possibilities to choose from. There are polyester tops, poly-cotton blend bimini tops, vinyl bimini tops, as well as various patented materials. Each option varies in terms of endurance, wrinkle prevention, and price. Additionally, they can come with mildew and UV-resistant capabilities. The tubing which joins the bimini top to the boat is also available in a number of types, starting with aluminum, and moving up to top-of-the-line stainless steel.
The standard measurements for bimini tops for pontoon boats are eight by eight feet to eight by ten feet, with a clearance of about 46” to 60”. Of course, looks are important as well; bimini tops are available in a number of colors, so you can find one to go with the detailing of your boat. There are three basic configurations available: traditional, meaning a ordinary square or rectangular shape; buggy-style, which has additional flaps that extend downward to attach to the guardrail; or extra-long, which extends beyond the cabin for extra sun protection.
As well as the bimini top itself, it’s worth thinking about getting a storage boot, in which you can easily pack up the bimini top while the boat is docked, or even things such as privacy partitions, or towel clips, so that you can hang towels from the bimini top. Some outfitters sell the different parts including fabric and tubing separately, allowing you to build a custom bimini top. There are enough options out there that every pontoon boat owner is sure to find a bimini top that meets their tastes.
A boating marine life is far different from a so-called “normal” life. In our culture, we are raised with certain expectations of how our lives should be. We are supposed to want marriage, family, a house with a white picket fence and a minivan or SUV. However, a growing number of people have begun to realize that this is only one of many possible lifestyles. A boating marine life can be every bit as fulfilling as a traditional life.
Choosing a boating marine life does not necessarily mean deciding against marrying and having children. Many families successfully live for years on houseboats. Many adventurous types even sail around the world together. For this to work, it is imperative that the family is close and good at problem solving. It is not easy to slam doors and have a time out when you are in tight quarters in the middle of the ocean. Nonetheless, for families that are willing to remain level headed and work together, a boating marine lifestyle can and does work well.
If you are alone, your choices for a boating marine life are limitless. You could sign on for a stint as a deckhand on a tall sailing ship or travel the world on a luxury cruise ship. You can even choose to purchase a small seagoing vessel and travel alone. Ply the same waters once traveled by pirates and explorers or simply live just offshore on a houseboat.
Choosing a boating marine life means giving up certain comforts. Much like living in an RV, space on a boat is at a premium. You and your travel partners(s) must be comfortable in extremely small and crowded quarters. Even if you sign on with a commercial ship, your living area will be cramped.
If you are venturing out alone or with family or friends, you should familiarize yourself with how to make basic repairs on your vessel. In many parts of the world, you may be far from easy assistance when your boat breaks down. It is imperative for anyone who plans to begin a boating marine life to know how to solve problems with the boat.
Make sure that your boat is in top shape before setting off on any voyage. Have the vessel inspected by a professional. Also, file a sailing plan with the Coast Guard as well as leaving a copy with a trusted friend or relative. Make sure that you have adequate boating supplies on board including extra drinking water and a full set of tools.
Go out to sea several times before you actually make your long voyage. Doing so will allow you to gain valuable knowledge to keep safe and secure. Safety while boating is vitally important, as is making sure that you have the right equipment.
The boating marine life can be difficult and often lonely. In exchange, you have the world as your oyster. Falling asleep on a gently rocking craft, finding yourself in the middle of a school of dolphins, or simply watching land drift by in the distance are just a few of the rewards for those brave enough to follow the call of the sea. The boating world is fairly small, meaning that you will gradually make friends in different ports. There is no real need for loneliness when your friends are just an easy sail away. This life requires a certain personality type, but if you have it, you may find that you never wish to return to your old life.
Once you are determined that sailing is a sport you enjoy it is time to think about buying your own sailboat. There are many different sailboats that you can choose from. There will be benefits and drawbacks of each type. There are many types of small sailboats which work well for those just learning and more advanced boats like the catamaran.
There will be a cabin included in some of the larger sailboats. With a wet beginner sailboat you will end up getting wet almost every time you are out on the water. These are great beginner boats where you sit on either the floor or the deck. If you are using a dry beginner sailboat you will sit either on the gunwale or a seat. They enable you to stay dry as long as the weather is good.
If you tend to get a little scared out on the water these may be the best bet for you. Cabin sailboats either have a small storage area or a full size cabin below. People just starting out may want to stay with a fairly simple boat. Smaller boats are not less fun that larger boats and are a lot easier to maneuver.
It is easier to become familiar with the basics of the sport when there are less ropes and sails to worry about. Light winds are perfect for sailing smaller boats. After you feel totally comfortable in a small sailboat you can take those skills and move onto a larger vessel. It is easiest to learn about sailing if you start with a sailboat with only one sail.
There are a large selection of small sailboats with one sail. Beginners also tend to do best with a single hulled boat. Most new sailors prefer fiberglass boats because they are lightweight and do not need a lot of maintenance. Sailing is a very enjoyable sport when you have a boat which is easy to learn and the proper size. Find a sailboat for sale here.

Three years ago, my husband and I made the decision to travel more. Upon my husband’s retirement in 2001, we have spent our winters in southwest Florida and our summers at our cottage in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I-75 became our “home away from home” because we traveled it often. The commutes north-to-south and south-to-north became all-too-familiar and, frankly, b-o-r-i-n-g. But, this was a comfortable lifestyle and met our needs to follow the desirable weather.
In Florida, we found a wonderful Mobile Home and RV Park. Two-thirds of the park was designated for permanent mobile homes; the other third offered full hook-up, RV lots with patios. This Park was situated along the Caloosahatchee River with unobstructed views of swimming manatees, soaring bald eagles, and alligators sunning themselves along the banks. It was near city conveniences like hospitals, shopping malls, and restaurants, but far enough away from all the hectic traffic…a perfect location. The Park offered an array of amenities and we could choose how active (or inactive) we wanted to be.
We happily made the decision to purchase a lovely permanent mobile home in this wonderful Park and soon found ourselves surrounded by new friends. However, from the very first season we lived there, we were drawn to the RV section of our Park. Don’t get me wrong…we loved living in our mobile home and enjoyed our neighbors, but we both felt something was missing in our lives. Since we were quite a bit younger than our new friends, we felt like “outsiders”…not quite part of the “group”. Our RV acquaintances seemed more out-going, spent more time outside socializing with their neighbors, and had the same interests we did because they were closer to our age. Living in an RV had a bohemian allure my husband and I found intriguing.
After being in our mobile home for five winters, and with much thought and discussion, my
husband and I decided to give RV-ing a try. What a great decision this turned out to be! We now have the ability to travel comfortably and see different parts of our country, as well as spend time at our familiar Park. We save time packing because we have all the conveniences of home and everything we need at our fingertips. Instead of spending days opening and closing our mobile home, we are completely hooked up and socializing with our neighbors within a few short minutes.
RV-ing allows us the freedom to move around and experience new opportunities in numerous surroundings. We have adapted well to this carefree lifestyle. Additionally, we are making lasting friendships all over this beautiful country of ours at all of the campgrounds we stay in because everyone is so happy…we’re all doing what we love to do!
I am a bit of an insomniac so when I am camping I like to have all of the comforts possible to make sure I will be able to fall asleep quickly and get plenty of rest. A warm comfortable sleeping bag is a must, along with a comfortable pillow. Such as the one on your bed at home. A soft pad to place your sleeping bag on is a must. And for that ultimate comfort get a foldable camp cot.
A camping cot will not only make the surface under your camp pad softer and more comfortable. But, I always feel safer when I’m not sleeping on the ground. Being up a little higher just seems to be more comfortable. It’s easier to get up and down, and it gives the illusion of being slightly protected from insects and other crawlies.
There are a lot of cot choices these days. You can get the military style cot or any number of fold-able cots. And lots of different sizes and colors as well. If you want something a little fancier than the typical folding camp cot. Pacific outdoors makes a padded cot that is also adjustable so you can lounge in it as well as lie down.
There are also tent cots and and air beds on cots. But, my favorite is the Coleman Big Sky Over sized Steel Spring Bed. This is another quality Coleman product and comes with a 1.75 inch mattress and a springy steel spring construction that makes it feel like sleeping on a regular bed. In fact on some of the reviews people said they used it to sleep on every night. I wouldn’t recommend this but, it could come in handy when guests are around.
Another thing that will make your camp site feel like home is having a folding camping table or two. Like all of the other camping gear there are a lot of choices to choose from these days. You can just get a simple folding table for extra room for food or cooking. Or you can get a table with storage underneath for cooking or there are elaborate fold away kitchen and camp kitchen units available.
There are also lightweight foldaway tables with benches or fold out stools so you and yours will have a place to eat and lounge around a play games. Whatever your tastes and needs the modern camp can be made a lot like home with these camping accessories. Just like home, except for a lot more fun!
Those of you who are like me and spend quite a bit a time camping when you were a kid, probably remember the old liquid fuel lanterns. The kind you had to adjust just right to get to light and burn and the filament mantles that were constantly burning out and needing to be changed. Well good news for you nostaligia buffs. You can still get the green 2 mantle Coleman liquid fuel lantern. Although it is quite a bit more expensive then I remember it being at around $65.
But for those people who like the nostalgia of the camp lantern but would also like the modern convenience of rechargeable battery power. You may want to check out the Coleman Retro Rechargeable Battery Powered Lanter. That was a mouthful. This lantern looks nice, costs less then then the liquid fuel lantern, and runs cool so no more burnt fingers or fire hazards caused by the old style lanterns. The battery can run up to 9 hours on a single charge and can be recharged with a 120-volt ac outlet or a 12-volt dc power port. So you can recharge the battery from your car’s lighter port.
Changing the bulb is easy with the quick release lever. And the light shines brightly and upward and out with the built in reflector. The battery is recyclable and there is a built-in nightlight. If you want to save a little cash you can also just get the Coleman Rugged Battery Powered Lantern. It only costs around 25$ and will keep your tent lit for hours. It can run on low up to 28 hours and on high up to 18 hours. It also runs cool and is a great addition to your camp.
When I camp I like to have at least a couple of lanterns for lighting those dark mountain nights. Plus, some extra flashlights for quick trips to the restroom or walking at night or for searching for things in the dark. Plus if you are startled at night you want something quick, that will light with the push of a button.
Camping chairs have come a long way since the old camp stools of the past. There are tons of great choices available these days. And the camping chair is a very versatile and useful camping accessory plus they can double as beach and backyard accessories as well.
The well known camping gear manufacturer Coleman makes a lot of really great camping chairs. For the ultimate in comfort you could always check out the Coleman over-sized quad chair with built in cooler. The chair is larger for us larger folks. And comes with adjustable armrests and a padded seat and back. All on a sturdy powder coated frame that folds up for easy transport. On one side there is a built in holder for magazines or scorecards and a mesh cup holder. Plus there is a built in soft cooler that holds 3-4 drink cans and a Coleman ice pack.
If you have a loved one who is too large for this chair there is also a a big & tall 400 lb capacity chair available that comes in blue and has two cup holders. And if that’s not enough for you there is also a super heavy duty folding director’s chair. This chair holds up to 500 lbs and has a fold out side table with cup holder and a 3 in 1 cooler with pockets on the other side. As you can see camp chairs have come along way.
Another popular chair is the Coleman XL Broadband Quad Chair it is heavy duty, holds up to 275lbs, and has reinforced seams. But it weighs less then 9 lbs and folds up into it’s handy carrying case. This chair is popular and comfortable and looks great in khaki or black. These chairs are great for camping trips, it’s like having furniture in your forest living room. In fact just writing about this makes me wish I was lounging around a mountain camp right now.
But even if you are not on a camping trip, having these lightweight versatile compact chairs is a great idea. They are wonderful for sporting events outdoor concerts at the park. Picnics and trips to the lake or fishing on the rivers edge. And you can just have one on your porch or in the backyard to enjoy the outdoors while your at home.
Are you looking to take a camping trip in the near future? Whether you are looking to take a camping trip as a family vacation or a romantic getaway, you may be concerned with the cost of doing so. While camping is often referred to as an affordable recreational activity, it is still possible for camping to get quite expensive. If you are looking to take a camping trip, but without spending too much money, you will want to continue reading on.
When it comes to saving money on your next camping trip, there are a number of different approaches that you can take. One of the first approaches is examining how you plan on camping. For instance, are you interested in camping in an RV or in a tent? As nice as RV camping is, it can be expensive. Gasoline often costs more money for an RV than a traditional car or truck. If you have yet to purchase an RV, it is important to know that it is much cheaper to camp in a tent than it is to buy an RV or even just rent one.
Another one of the many ways that you can go about saving money on your next camping trip is when you buy your camping equipment. If you have gone camping before, there is a good chance that you already have most of the needed camping equipment, like tents, sleeping bags, and coolers. If you need to buy camping equipment, you may want to look into buying your supplies from discount camping stores or department stores. If at all possible, you may want to see if you can borrow your camping equipment from a friend or a family member.
Another tip to keep in mind, when buying your camping equipment, is that standard equipment will likely do. Of course, you will want to purchase a tent that is large enough, as well as one that is waterproof, but the design shouldn’t have to matter as much. It is your decision if you would like to purchase a fancy camping tent or a fancy sleeping bag, but you may be able to save a considerable amount of money by going with standard items instead. For used camping equipment, which may be much more cheaper, you may want to keep an eye on your local yard sales or examine online auction websites.
In keeping with the supplies that you will need for your next camping trip, you will also need to bring along food, snacks, and drinks. If you are planning your next camping trip in advance, you may want to start stocking up on some of the supplies that you will need. What you will want to do is keep an eye on your local supermarkets and any sales that they may have. Most chips, cookies, crackers, meats when frozen, and drinks, will stay good for a few months or even longer. This means that you should be able to buy your food, snacks, and drinks while they are on sale and then save them for your camping trip. When buying all of your food, drinks, and snacks on sale, you should be able to save a considerable amount of money on your next camping trip.
Another one of the many ways that you can save money on your next camping trip is by carefully choosing which campground park you choose to camp at. In the United States, you can find an unlimited number of campground parks. No matter where you live, you should have a number of parks to choose from. While these parks are not all the same, you may want to closely examine the cost of them. Camping at an affordable campground park is a great way to save money on your next camping trip. As a reminder, the more activities accesses you have, like boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and so forth, the more costly a campground is likely to be.
The above mentioned steps are just a few of the many steps that you can take to save money on your next camping trip. As a reminder, camping is considered an affordable recreational activity, but if you are not careful, it can get fairly expensive.
Camping chairs are one of the most popular and most frequently use camp accessories. Instead of sitting around on logs or little folding stools having a comfy chair can increase your camping enjoyment. Many versatile camp chairs are available today from light weight portables. To fancy chairs that have all kinds of pouches and accessories and yet fold up to the size of a small roll. Plus, once you have these chairs they can be taken to the beach and used for outdoor events and picnics at home or the park. Plus they make a great addition to go with your portable camping table or picnic table.
As for the benefits of owning a picnic table, you will find that there are a number of them. One of the many benefits to owning a picnic table is it makes outdoor eating, as well as hosting outdoor picnics and backyard barbeques easier. There is nothing like having a place to sit when you eat outside. Picnic tables can not only help you keep your guests happy, but they can also help reduce the number of messes associated with outdoor picnics, as you and all of your guests actually have a surface to place all of your plates and foods on.
Since there are a number of benefits to owning and using a picnic table, you may be looking to purchase one. If this is your first time buying a picnic table, you may be unsure as to how you can go about getting started. If that is the case, you will want to continue reading on. Just a few of the many ways that you can go about buying a picnic table are outlined below for your convenience.
If you are interested in buying a picnic table locally, you may want to examine your local department stores. Many department stores, especially those that are large in size, have a home and garden department. A home and garden department is where you should be able to find picnic tables available for sale. What is nice about buying your next picnic table from one of your local department stores is that most department stores are known for their affordable prices. Perhaps, the only downside to buying a picnic table from one of your local department stores is the selection, as it usually isn’t very large.
In keeping with shopping locally, another one of your options involves visiting one of your local home and garden stores. What is nice about home and garden stores is that they tend to specialize in home improvement projects, such as outdoor landscaping and so forth. If your local home and garden store is relatively large in size, you may have as many as ten or more picnic tables to choose from. This often gives you more freedom. It is also important to mention that having a larger selection of picnic tables to choose from makes it easier for you to find a picnic table that you like, but also one that you can easily afford.
In addition to visiting your local home and garden stores and department stores, you may also be able to find for sale picnic tables when you least expect to. In the United States, there are many individuals who have a love for woodwork, which includes making picnic tables. Whether you are driving home from work or are on your way back home from running errands, you may want to be on the lookout for individuals who make and sell picnic tables themselves. These individuals often have picnic table for sale signs by the side of the road or even a few sample picnic tables.
In addition to doing your picnic table shopping locally, you should also be able to find picnic tables online. When doing so, you have a number of different options. Picnic tables can often be found for sale on online auction websites, online home and garden stores, as well as on websites that are run by individuals and companies that specialize in making and selling picnic tables. Shopping online for a picnic table is nice, as it often gives you the largest selection of products to choose from. With that in mind, it is important that you carefully examine the cost of shipping and handling, as it can occasionally be quite high.
As outlined above, you have a number of different options when it comes to buying a picnic table. Whether you are interested in owning a picnic table for your own personal use or for when you plan on entertaining friends, you may want to start examining all of your options.
